Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Investment Trust and Beverages & Tobacco sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which rose 23.07% or 141.50 points to trade at 754.90 at the close. Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) added 21.52% or 322.30 points to end at 1819.90 and Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) was up 18.76% or 78.80 points to 498.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which lost 11.11% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 in late trade. Trans Asia Hotels PLC (CM:TRAN) declined 10.53% or 10.00 points to end at 85.00 and Lee Hedges PLC (CM:SHAW) shed 8.12% or 6.90 points to 78.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 74 and 66 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.31% or 0.21 to $67.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.24% or 0.18 to hit $74.56 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 2.50 to trade at $1320.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.91% to 217.505, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 157.710.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 91.57.
