Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Manufacturing, Construction & Engineering and Motors sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 25.00% or 0.200 points to end at 1.000 and Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) was up 22.27% or 136.60 points to 750.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which lost 16.90% or 12.10 points to trade at 59.50 in late trade. Hunter & Company PLC (CM:HUNT) declined 10.90% or 50.40 points to end at 412.00 and Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon PLC (CM:PEG) shed 7.89% or 2.20 points to 25.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 120 to 49 and 53 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.40% or 0.27 to $67.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $72.63 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1223.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.32% to 208.400, while USD/LKR fell 0.06% to 159.860.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 94.90.
