Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Services and Footwear & Textile sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL), which rose 15.26% or 5.80 points to trade at 43.80 at the close. Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) added 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and Richard Pieris Exports PLC (CM:REXP) was up 9.55% or 17.00 points to 195.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which lost 33.33% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 in late trade. Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) declined 21.16% or 83.50 points to end at 311.10 and Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) shed 20.95% or 18.60 points to 70.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 71 and 66 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.72% or 0.47 to $66.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.44% or 0.31 to hit $70.84 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 2.60 to trade at $1358.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.51% to 219.410, while USD/LKR fell 0.01% to 153.740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 88.93.
