Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Beverages & Tobacco and Investment Trust sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW), which rose 22.48% or 134.90 points to trade at 735.00 at the close. Printcare PLC (CM:CARE) added 11.11% or 3.40 points to end at 34.00 and Citrus Leisure PLC (CM:REEF) was up 9.88% or 0.80 points to 8.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD), which lost 22.58% or 350.00 points to trade at 1200.00 in late trade. Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) declined 20.00% or 175.00 points to end at 700.00 and Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT) shed 10.37% or 14.00 points to 121.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 68 and 70 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.81% or 1.03 to $57.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.96% or 0.60 to hit $63.17 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.21% or 2.64 to trade at $1284.34 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.09% to 203.635, while USD/LKR fell 0.03% to 153.720.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 93.75.
