Sipa Resources Ltd (ASX:SRI) has defined two new gold targets at Warralong Project in the Pilbara region of WA through infill rock chip sampling and aircore drilling.
The company hopes to drill test the anomalous gold pathfinder geochemistry early next quarter.
Assays reveal elevated bismuth, tellurium, arsenic and antimony at the first target, defined over a 400-metre by 100-metre area.
Key areas of interest
Sampling at the target was conducted to follow up and infill earlier results from a broad-spaced soil, rock chip and lag sampling program, completed on one of the key areas of interest in 2021.
The area has been mapped as granites and gneisses on regional Geological Survey of Western Australia maps but a prominent gravity feature, outcropping mafic and ultramafic rocks and complex magnetics indicate the tenement area has more variable geology – with enhanced potential for mineralisation.
Over at target number two there is silver, arsenic, bismuth and thorium anomalism, coinciding with sericite alteration and a magnetic high.
This second target was generated from a review of the 2021 aircore drilling results and sits right where anomalous gold pathfinder geochemistry (silver-arsenic-bismuth-thorium) coincides with sericite alteration at the northern end of a magnetic anomaly.
All necessary approvals are in place to drill test this target.
Starting to bear fruit
Sipa Resources managing director Pip Darvall said: “The results of our systematic work at Warralong are starting to bear fruit.
“Within this very large and prospective tenement position, which was previously almost unexplored, Sipa has identified two discrete gold targets with coincident geochemical and geophysical anomalies.
“We are looking forward to testing these with aircore programs next month.”
