SensOre Ltd (ASX:S3N) has again leveraged its Discriminant Predictive Targeting (DPT), artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies to target a fertile igneous complex, this time at the Moonera joint venture (JV) project in Western Australia.
Moonera is in an emerging frontier exploration region, the Madura Province, east of the Fraser Range.
The project is being explored under a JV agreement with private company Nullabor Resources Pty Ltd, which offers SensOre an 80% interest in the tenure if the company spends $3 million within three years.
S3N targeted the igneous complex with a combination of infill geophysics, 3D combined magnetic and gravity geophysics, generated in a staged, methodical exploration program augmented by SensOre’s ML and AI tools.
Moonera is the first of SensOre’s next-generation base-metals targets resulting from an expanded application of DPT on its proprietary hyperdimensional data cube.
Results from first drill hole
SensOre’s pre-drill interpretation was of a pipe-like, multiphase, altered intrusive with associated iron-rich magnetic alteration and mineral transformation (metasomatism) surrounding the central dense body.
The drill hole – the first to successfully penetrate the limestone sequence cover and drill into underlying basement rocks – encountered a multi-phase, strongly altered felsic (potentially mineral-rich) intrusive rock sequence from 458 metres of depth to 733 metres, consisting of monzodiorite, syenogranite, granite and granodiorite.
S3N’s drilling intersected extensive mineral alteration commonly associated with mineral systems, backed up by geochemistry and petrology.
The company says the alteration and geochemistry from this first drill hole are ‘highly encouraging’, indicating the potential for economic mineral systems including magmatic hydrothermal iron-oxide copper-gold (MH IOCG) and alkaline copper-gold porphyries in the project area.
SensOre is now considering undertaking further drill targeting in pursuit of mineralised zones within this intrusive complex, especially given increasing interest in the Madura province by major companies such as BHP (ASX:BHP) and Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) Exploration.
