Rumble Resources Ltd today welcomes experienced mining executive Peter Harold as managing director and chief executive officer to drive the company’s next critical phase of growth.
Harold will oversee growth as the company continues to expand and enhance the emerging Tier-1 Earaheedy Zinc-Lead-Silver Project and other highly prospective exploration projects in Western Australia.
He is a process engineer and highly accomplished mining executive with more than 30 years of strategic, commercial and corporate experience in the minerals industry.
“Exceptional growth potential”
“After a three-month sabbatical to recharge the batteries I’m very excited to be starting at Rumble,” Harold said:
"I was drawn to Rumble by the combination of commodity mix, size of the existing resource at Earaheedy, the exceptional growth potential of the project and the quality of the board and management team."
Non-executive director Peter Venn, who was interim MD, will transition to the role of technical director, working closely with the new MD and CEO.
In this capacity, Venn will continue to play a key role in delivery of Rumble’s organic growth model through exploration and development.
Previous roles
Before joining Rumble, Harold was MD and CEO of Poseidon Nickel Limited for 3.5 years and was instrumental in raising significant equity to allow the completion of bankable feasibility studies on the Black Swan Nickel Project and the Windarra Gold Tailings Project.
This also allowed the funding of significant resource drilling and exploration activities and the Black Swan restart pre-works.
Prior to Poseidon, Harold was the managing director of Panoramic Resources Ltd, a company he co-founded as a $3 million IPO in 2001.
He led Panoramic through the financing and development of the Savannah Nickel Project in the East Kimberley and the acquisition and restart of the Lanfranchi Nickel Project near Kambalda in the early 2000s.
The company reached a market capitalisation of $1.2 billion in 2007, with more than 400 employees producing around 20,000 tonnes per annum of nickel in concentrate from two underground mines.
“Back into zinc”
"I started my career in mining on the Golden Grove zinc/copper project and have always wanted to get back into zinc given it plays such a vital role globally in the transition to a renewable future,” he said.
"I also believe the supply/demand fundamentals will be weighted heavily on the side of the zinc miners going forward.
"I’m looking forward to working with the Rumble team to unlock the full value of Earaheedy and our other projects.”
Harold has been a non-executive director and chairman of numerous ASX-listed companies for the past 25 years and is currently the non-executive chairman of Rare Foods Australia Ltd and the non-executive chairman of Poseidon Nickel.
He is passionate about helping young people and was on the board of Youth Focus for nine years and chairman for five years. Youth Focus delivers frontline services and education programs to young people, which aims to reduce symptoms associated with suicide, depression, anxiety and self-harm, and build long-term mental well-being.
“Invaluable” experience
Rumble’s new technical director Peter Venn said: “We are delighted to have secured someone of Peter’s capability and regard in the mining industry to be our MD and CEO.
"His previous experience and success in building companies from early-stage exploration through development to production is invaluable.
"We are looking forward to the strong leadership and vision that Peter will bring to help grow our young team, and ultimately unlock the full value of our flagship Earaheedy asset whilst also developing our other projects.
"I’ve enjoyed my role as interim MD and look forward to working closely with Peter in my new role as technical director.”
