Richmond Vanadium Technology Ltd (ASX:RVT) has appointed its chief project engineer Lily Zhao to the board as technical director.

In this role, Zhao will drive and be responsible for confirmatory metallurgical test work and process flowsheet optimisation.

With over 20 years of experience in project management and engineering, she brings a wealth of knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and control system design, programming, commissioning and operational support.

Zhao holds an engineering bachelor's degree and is currently pursuing an MBA through the University of Western Australia.

Key player

“RVT is transforming as we progress the bankable feasibility study of our Richmond-Julia Creek Vanadium Project,” Richmond Vanadium managing director Jon Price said.

“Lily has played a key role in RVT’s growth and development, overseeing the metallurgical test-work program which has led to our patent pending process flowsheet.

“Her background and skills will enable us to liaise with institutes with expertise in vanadium concentration and recovery, along with potential processing equipment suppliers in Asia.”

Viable project

Richmond Vanadium is an Australian minerals company focused on advancing its 100%-owned Richmond-Julia Creek Vanadium Project in North Queensland.

The 1.8-billion-tonne project has demonstrated technical and financial viability through a completed pre-feasibility study and a provisional patent application for the concentration of vanadium.

The company is currently conducting a bankable feasibility study and progressing approvals for the project, which is strategically located near existing infrastructure in Queensland.

The Richmond-Julia Creek Project was declared a Coordinated Project by the Queensland Government in May 2022, making it the first critical minerals project to receive this status.

Its mineral resource covers three main prospects - Lilyvale, Manfred and Rothbury - across five tenements.
