Regener8 Resources NL has embarked on its first-ever field campaign at the Kookynie Gold Project near Leonora in WA.
The explorer is undertaking a first-pass auger soil geochemical program and regolith mapping as it prepares for a phase one drilling campaign.
At first, work will focus on Kookynie’s Reach prospect and the Niagara North and Niagara West tenements, where Regener8 is out to better its regolith understanding and define geochemical anomalies.
Once the results are in, they’ll be processed with recently collected airborne geophysical data to formulate the imminent drill program.
“Safe, productive and enjoyable program”
Regener8 managing director Stephen Foley said it was great to be out witnessing Regener8’s maiden field campaign begin with the hardworking team.
“We appreciate the efforts of Carl, Conor, Jake and Greg at Morpaoi Station for making this a safe, productive and enjoyable program," he explained.
“Traversing the tenements through mapping and augering allows us to appreciate the landscape and build geological knowledge for future investigation, in a respectful and climate-sensitive manner.”
About the explorer
Regener8 is relatively new to the ASX, having only listed on the exchange in July this year.
The company acquired the Kookynie Gold Project from GTI Energy, staking prospective precious metals ground roughly 150 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in WA.
Interestingly, this historically productive region has generated more than 500,000 gold ounces in its lifetime and has seen somewhat of a revival in recent years.
In fact, some of Kookynie’s famous neighbours — think Genesis Minerals (ASX:GMD), Iris Metals, Carnavale Resources and Metallicity — have recently delivered encouraging resource growth as they explore the region.
Spurred on by surrounding success, Regener8 intends to investigate its underexplored tenements in the heart of this district.
