Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Technology and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 0.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Amer Sports Corporation (HE:AMEAS), which rose 2.74% or 0.68 points to trade at 25.50 at the close. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) added 2.11% or 0.34 points to end at 16.47 and Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) was up 1.16% or 0.38 points to 33.09 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which lost 7.27% or 2.21 points to trade at 28.20 in late trade. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) declined 6.76% or 0.2480 points to end at 3.4180 and Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) shed 5.59% or 1.34 points to 22.63.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 103 to 74 and 11 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 2.44% or 1.02 to $40.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 3.16% or 1.31 to hit $40.14 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 1.98% or 24.70 to trade at $1223.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1181, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.7929.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.44% at 96.09.
