Predictive Discovery Ltd (ASX:PDI, OTC:PDIYF) has made solid progress at regional Argo and near-resource targets in the latest round of drilling on the Bankan Gold Project in Guinea.
The company intends to add to its current resource base of 5.38 million ounces with additional commercial gold deposits, with exploration currently focused around the Argo area, about 15-20 kilometres from the Northeast Bankan (NEB) and Bankan Central (BC) deposits.
Closer to home, Predictive is also targeting additional deposits close to the existing deposits, which would enhance the operation centred there.
Overall, PDI drilled 131 holes for 9,355 metres, hitting promising gold results at the Sounsoun target near Argo, a new anomaly on the Argo South Trend and in near-resource drilling.
Sounsoun is a priority
“PDI continues to make solid progress at numerous regional Argo targets and near-resource targets, which are the current focus of our exploration and drilling programs,” Predictive Discovery managing director Andrew Pardey said.
“Sounsoun is a high-priority target at Argo due to its size and prospectivity, and the latest results have intercepted additional mineralised structures and extended the strike length of known mineralisation to 700 metres.
“Excitingly, only a small part of the 1.8-kilometre auger anomaly has been tested by drilling so far. Sounsoun is now joining Fouwagbe as one of the most exciting prospects at Argo.
“The SB (South Bankan) and SEB (Southeast Bankan) targets to the south of NEB have delivered more positive results and the potential for satellite deposits to be hosted here continues to be enhanced.
“Systematic exploration of the Bankan Gold Project’s significant upside potential will be ongoing with the aim of discovering additional economic gold deposits and growing the current 5.38-million-ounce resource.”
Drilling was temporarily paused at Bankan due to fuel shortages following a fire at Guinea’s main storage facility in mid-December. Drilling has now resumed and rigs are fully operational.
The company says its drilling programs will continue to target the most promising g Argo and near-resource prospects on a results-driven basis.

Assay results
Reverse circulation (RC) and aircore drilling at Sousoun intersected four mineralised structures over a 700-metre strike thus far.
Best new results include:
- 2 metres at 7.7 g/t gold from 38 metres;
- 6 metres at 2.11 g/t from 11 metres;
- 6 metres at 1.62 g/t from 158 metres; and
- 6 metres ay 1.54 g/t from 20 metres.
Predictive says it will continue to extend drilling southwest to test the full extent of the 1.8-kilometre auger anomaly previously identified at Sousoun.
PDI also unearthed a promising result in aircore drilling at a new auger anomaly on the Argo South Trend, hitting 6 metres at 1.55 g/t gold from 36 metres with more results to come from this area.
Finally, near-resource drilling also generated positive results, with new intercepts including:
South Bankan:
- 3 metres at 8.28 g/t gold from 2.8 metres;
- 7 metres at 1.51 g/t from 19 metres;
- 9 metres at 1.38 g/t from 244 metres; and
- 8 metres at 1.12 g/t from 195 metres.
Southeast Bankan:
- 2.9 metres at 14.5 g/t gold from 194 metres.
Bankan Central North:
- 1-metre at 21 g/t gold from 29 metres.
PDI plans to undertake a limited diamond drilling program with holes initially at Fouwagbe, Sounsoun, Sinkoumba, Tindini and potentially Naladioulou.
This program will assist to refine the geological and structural understanding of the prospects, further test mineralisation at depth and assist with future targeting.
