Encouraging drill results have flowed for Predictive Discovery Ltd (ASX:PDI, OTC:PDIYF) from 458 holes covering 28,388 metres at the Argo and Bokoro areas of the 5.38-million-ounce Bankan Gold Project in Guinea.
The results are part of the company’s strategy to maintain a strong pipeline of exploration targets, with a focus on defining a maiden mineral resource estimate at the Sounsoun target within the Argo permit.
Highlights
Key highlights from the drilling at Sounsoun include the identification of an east-west trending shear zone, mineralised over at least 700 metres.
Strong results from this zone include 4.05 metres at 11.44 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 103 metres, 11 metres at 1.42 g/t from 74 metres, and 9 metres at 1.46 g/t from 50 metres.
Exploration drilling at other Argo targets yielded positive results as well.
At the Somo target, drilling revealed multiple mineralised zones in saprolite, with the best intercept being 12 metres at 4.82 g/t from 10 metres.
At Sedadiou, a new mineralised zone, potentially an extension of the Sinkoumba trend, was discovered with intersections of 6 metres at 2.16 g/t from 60 metres and 4 metres at 2.13 g/t from 72 metres.
Additionally, at Sinkoumba, an up-dip intercept of 5 metres at 5.55 g/t confirmed a steeply dipping mineralised zone.
Exploration at Bokoro, located south of Argo, also yielded promising results, with notable first-pass aircore drilling intersections including 10 metres at 3.33 g/t from 24 metres and 2 metres at 7.41 g/t from 34 metres.
Additional results imminent
“We are encouraged by initial resource definition drilling at Sounsoun, which recorded positive intercepts and has defined a shear zone which hosts mineralisation over a strike of at least 700 metres,” PDI managing director Andrew Pardey said.
“Additional results are due imminently from Sounsoun. Resource definition drilling is also underway at the Fouwagbe target and we are looking forward to receiving results from this program.
“The Bankan Project has excellent exploration upside with 35 kilometres of major regional structure running through the permits.
“Delivering maiden mineral resource estimates from these initial Argo targets will be an important catalyst for the company, highlighting growth potential beyond the NEB and BC areas.
“Our pipeline of exploration targets continues to be developed, with positive new results from the Somo, Sedadiou and Sinkoumba targets at Argo, as well as promising results from initial drilling on the Bokoro permit that sits between Argo and NEB.”
