Predictive Discovery Ltd (ASX:PDI, OTC:PDIYF) has completed a successful regional exploration campaign in the Argo area of the Bankan Gold Project in Guinea, which holds a mineral resource of 5.38 million ounces of gold.

The company completed 244 holes over 16,538 metres at multiple Argo targets, including the high-priority Fouwagbe and Sounsoun prospects.

At Sounsoun, PDI confirmed the presence of gold mineralisation over a kilometre of the 1.8 kilometres to be tested, producing results of 11.5 metres at 1.26 g/t gold from 208.5 metres down-dip and 4 metres at 2.24 g/t from 18 metres along strike.

Extensional drilling at Sounsoun also generated 6 metres at 1.3 g/t from 26 metres and 10 metres at 0.73 g/t from 30 metres.

At Fouwagbe, the company extended mineralisation a further 200 metres southwest toward the Sinkoumba target, with results up to 6 metres at 3.9 g/t from 36 metres.

Promise in multiple target areas

“We are pleased to report the latest exploration results from Argo, which have delivered positive intercepts at multiple targets across the permit area,” Predictive Discovery managing director Andrew Pardey said.

“Our most advanced targets, Fouwagbe and Sounsoun, continue to develop along strike and at depth, and the Sinkoumba and Sanifolon South targets, which are on the same trend as Fouwagbe, are showing excellent potential.

“Encouraging results have also been received from several new areas such as Sanifolon North and Sanikourou.

“Drilling at Argo will continue to follow up the best results at depth and along strike and expand early-stage drilling to untested areas with good potential."

Results of note from other Argo targets include:

  • Sinkoumba - Diamond drill hole hits 5 metres at 3.7 g/t gold from 75.8 metres along strike from Fouwagbe.
  • Sanifolon North - 2 metres at 78.68 g/t gold from 8 metres and 2 metres at 10.72 g/t from 6 metres – high-grade results.
  • Sanifolon South - Diamond drill hole of 1 metre at 21.71 g/t gold from 121 metres, down dip from previous results of 10 metres at 1.09 g/t from 8 metres and 2 metres at 41.71 g/t from 34 metres. Aircore drilling in this area also extended known mineralisation along strike, with results of 2 metres at 7.52 g/t gold from 42 metres, 2 metres at 2.62 g/t from 18 metres and 4 metres at 0.82 g/t from 64 metres.
  • Tindini - Diamond drill hole with results of 4.95 metres at 3 g/t from 111 metres, confirming a steeply dipping structure.
  • Finally, aircore results along strike from Tindini at Sanikourou which generated 2 metres at 7.71 g/t from 6 metres and 2 metres at 4.39 g/t from 12 metres.

More exploration to come

“The exploration program at Argo is advancing to the next phase, and we are excited to have commenced transitioning the Fouwagbe and Sounsoun targets into resource definition drilling programs with the resource development team," Pardey said.

“We believe this will ultimately deliver the first mineral resource estimates outside the NEB and BC area, highlighting the multi-deposit potential of the Bankan Gold Project.

“PDI’s regional exploration strategy is to maintain a steady flow of targets moving through the exploration pipeline and, in line with this strategy, the regional exploration team is extending its efforts beyond the Argo permit.

“Drilling is underway on the Bokoro permit, initially targeting prospective geochemistry anomalies and artisanal workings. We look forward to receiving the first results from these new areas.”

Resource estimate plans

PDI intends to begin resource definition drilling at Fouwagbe and Sounsoun with an aim to define an initial resource estimate.

The company will also undertake more aircore drilling to test lateral extensions of targets, particularly along the Argo Central Trend to the southwest of Sinkmouba and northeast of Sanifolon South, and along the Argo North Trend around Tindini and Sanikourou.

Drilling has already begun on the Bokoro permit immediately south of Argo, following up geochemistry anomalies and artisanal workings.

PDI will also test airborne geophysics-generated targets further south and on the Saman permit.
