Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Energy and Developers sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which rose 6.08% or 0.31 points to trade at 5.41 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 3.66% or 2.77 points to end at 78.40 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was up 1.40% or 70.05 points to 5070.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which lost 3.91% or 0.70 points to trade at 17.20 in late trade. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 2.53% or 4.35 points to end at 167.80 and Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) shed 2.29% or 0.98 points to 41.82.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 328 to 215 and 161 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.09% or 0.52 to $48.24 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.82% or 0.40 to hit $49.37 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.51% or 6.45 to trade at $1280.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.11% to 4.3734, while USD/PLN fell 0.04% to 3.8573.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 94.35.
