Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which rose 2.03% or 0.56 points to trade at 28.16 at the close. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) added 0.37% or 0.16 points to end at 43.87 and Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) was up 0.36% or 0.17 points to 47.79 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR), which lost 6.22% or 6.50 points to trade at 98.00 in late trade. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) declined 4.19% or 5.08 points to end at 116.20 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) shed 3.99% or 2.46 points to 59.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 297 to 205 and 178 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.50% or 0.87 to $57.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 1.44% or 0.91 to hit $62.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.86% or 11.15 to trade at $1283.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.03% to 4.2016, while USD/PLN fell 0.12% to 3.5450.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 93.15.
