Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Energy and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 1.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which rose 0.99% or 0.22 points to trade at 22.42 at the close. Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) added 0.75% or 0.62 points to end at 82.96 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 0.58% or 0.10 points to 17.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which lost 4.55% or 0.53 points to trade at 11.12 in late trade. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 4.02% or 8.20 points to end at 196.00 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) shed 3.86% or 0.090 points to 2.240.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 295 to 161 and 181 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 2.05% or 1.08 to $51.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 1.41% or 0.87 to hit $60.80 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.10 to trade at $1250.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.10% to 4.2953, while USD/PLN rose 0.17% to 3.7772.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 97.040.
