Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Energy, Basic Materials and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 6.06% or 1.60 points to trade at 28.00 at the close. Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) added 1.82% or 0.72 points to end at 40.22 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) was up 1.68% or 3.00 points to 182.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which lost 7.22% or 0.88 points to trade at 11.31 in late trade. Kruk SA (WA:KRU) declined 6.48% or 11.50 points to end at 166.00 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) shed 4.19% or 0.090 points to 2.060.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 383 to 180 and 56 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 5.00% or 2.86 to $54.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 5.00% or 3.34 to hit $63.45 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 1.80 to trade at $1223.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.58% to 4.3058, while USD/PLN rose 0.02% to 3.7818.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 96.54.
