Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemicals, Banking and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.16% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 5.88% or 0.150 points to trade at 2.700 at the close. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 5.34% or 0.54 points to end at 10.66 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was up 1.73% or 0.18 points to 10.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP), which lost 4.25% or 0.38 points to trade at 8.57 in late trade. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) declined 3.94% or 355.00 points to end at 8660.00 and Kruk SA (WA:KRU) shed 3.11% or 6.60 points to 205.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 272 to 194 and 172 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.84% or 0.52 to $61.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.08% or 0.70 to hit $64.03 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.53% or 7.00 to trade at $1310.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.21% to 4.1846, while USD/PLN rose 0.01% to 3.4252.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 90.56.
