Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Food and Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which rose 4.19% or 4.12 points to trade at 102.45 at the close. Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) added 0.54% or 0.38 points to end at 70.68 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was up 0.35% or 0.16 points to 45.42 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which lost 6.35% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.770 in late trade. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 5.54% or 0.47 points to end at 8.02 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) shed 5.22% or 0.47 points to 8.54.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 317 to 147 and 166 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.29% or 0.90 to $68.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.97% or 0.76 to hit $77.41 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.28% or 3.40 to trade at $1202.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.56% to 4.3339, while USD/PLN rose 0.18% to 3.7279.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 95.11.
