Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Chemicals and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Kruk SA (WA:KRU), which rose 5.83% or 14.00 points to trade at 254.00 at the close. Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 2.05% or 0.20 points to end at 9.95 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was up 1.50% or 0.09 points to 6.11 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 2.64% or 1.84 points to trade at 67.76 in late trade. Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) declined 1.89% or 0.80 points to end at 41.42 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) shed 1.29% or 1.43 points to 109.75.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 284 to 246 and 169 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.22% or 0.13 to $58.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.12% or 0.08 to hit $64.98 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.62% or 7.90 to trade at $1278.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.13% to 4.1912, while USD/PLN rose 0.05% to 3.5364.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 92.94.
