Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Basic Materials and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 2.13% or 176.90 points to trade at 8499.90 at the close. Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 1.73% or 0.17 points to end at 9.97 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was up 1.60% or 1.65 points to 105.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kruk SA (WA:KRU), which lost 6.46% or 21.90 points to trade at 317.10 in late trade. PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) declined 3.70% or 0.53 points to end at 13.81 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) shed 3.12% or 0.43 points to 13.36.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 273 to 209 and 190 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.23% or 0.60 to $49.26 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.27% or 0.68 to hit $54.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.22 to trade at $1344.72 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.46% to 4.2518, while USD/PLN rose 0.26% to 3.5614.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 92.01.
