Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Energy, Chemicals and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which rose 1.06% or 1.38 points to trade at 131.85 at the close. Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) added 0.93% or 1.20 points to end at 129.82 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) was up 0.76% or 1.50 points to 199.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP), which lost 3.40% or 0.34 points to trade at 9.66 in late trade. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 2.43% or 0.090 points to end at 3.610 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) shed 2.20% or 0.110 points to 4.890.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 255 to 212 and 189 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.74% or 0.88 to $51.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.81% or 1.02 to hit $57.27 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.50% or 6.51 to trade at $1303.01 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.42% to 4.2519, while USD/PLN fell 0.50% to 3.5913.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 92.82.
