Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Media and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which rose 3.24% or 0.30 points to trade at 9.56 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 2.94% or 2.43 points to end at 85.00 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was up 2.82% or 0.22 points to 8.02 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO), which lost 5.06% or 6.23 points to trade at 116.97 in late trade. Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) declined 3.14% or 0.17 points to end at 5.24 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) shed 2.65% or 0.120 points to 4.400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 278 to 252 and 197 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 3.27% or 1.57 to $46.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 3.16% or 1.55 to hit $47.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.82% or 9.80 to trade at $1179.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.18% to 4.4135, while USD/PLN fell 0.54% to 4.1673.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 101.56.
