Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Banking and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which rose 8.74% or 1.60 points to trade at 19.90 at the close. Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) added 1.00% or 0.70 points to end at 71.02 and mBank (WA:MBK) was up 0.97% or 4.00 points to 416.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which lost 3.38% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.000 in late trade. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) declined 2.26% or 0.20 points to end at 8.65 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) shed 1.81% or 4.20 points to 227.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 237 to 193 and 192 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.14% or 0.78 to $69.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.93% or 0.71 to hit $77.00 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.27% or 3.30 to trade at $1211.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.35% to 4.2870, while USD/PLN rose 0.31% to 3.6645.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 94.56.
