Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Construction, Basic Materials and Food sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which rose 3.89% or 0.35 points to trade at 9.35 at the close. Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 3.11% or 0.28 points to end at 9.28 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 2.83% or 0.27 points to 9.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which lost 2.64% or 1.48 points to trade at 54.52 in late trade. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 2.40% or 5.40 points to end at 220.00 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) shed 1.33% or 2.40 points to 178.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 244 to 179 and 171 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.44% or 0.30 to $68.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.54% or 1.16 to hit $74.16 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 2.60 to trade at $1268.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.53% to 4.3453, while USD/PLN rose 0.16% to 3.7146.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 94.00.
