Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Energy, Chemicals and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Kruk SA (WA:KRU), which rose 1.90% or 4.00 points to trade at 214.00 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 1.40% or 1.16 points to end at 83.85 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was up 1.08% or 0.10 points to 9.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which lost 5.06% or 0.120 points to trade at 2.250 in late trade. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 3.96% or 0.37 points to end at 8.98 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) shed 3.37% or 0.33 points to 9.47.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 260 to 167 and 169 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 3.26% or 2.22 to $70.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.92% or 1.43 to hit $75.98 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.52% or 6.60 to trade at $1262.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.25% to 4.3325, while USD/PLN rose 0.07% to 3.7137.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 94.22.
