Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Chemicals and Developers sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which rose 2.85% or 0.22 points to trade at 7.94 at the close. PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) added 2.81% or 1.29 points to end at 47.24 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was up 2.68% or 0.070 points to 2.680 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which lost 7.52% or 6.58 points to trade at 80.92 in late trade. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 3.10% or 1.89 points to end at 59.11 and Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) shed 2.86% or 0.15 points to 5.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 259 to 257 and 210 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 3.61% or 1.70 to $45.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 3.50% or 1.72 to hit $47.49 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.36% or 4.30 to trade at $1186.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.31% to 4.4364, while USD/PLN rose 0.23% to 4.1763.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 101.20.
