Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Boryszew SA (WA:BORY), which rose 3.53% or 0.17 points to trade at 4.98 at the close. Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW) added 3.32% or 2.70 points to end at 84.00 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was up 2.54% or 1.50 points to 60.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 2.38% or 2.21 points to trade at 90.57 in late trade. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 2.00% or 1.10 points to end at 53.90 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM) shed 1.65% or 1.12 points to 66.94.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 287 to 226 and 165 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 5.93% or 2.21 to $39.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 5.63% or 2.22 to hit $41.65 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.32% or 4.00 to trade at $1241.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.17% to 4.2900, while USD/PLN fell 0.43% to 3.7612.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 94.23.
