Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Information Technology and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 1.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 5.60% or 480.00 points to trade at 9050.00 at the close. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) added 3.98% or 2.60 points to end at 68.00 and Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was up 3.89% or 1.43 points to 38.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which lost 4.17% or 8.50 points to trade at 195.50 in late trade. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 2.98% or 0.65 points to end at 21.15 and Kruk SA (WA:KRU) shed 2.00% or 3.90 points to 191.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 238 to 195 and 158 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.07% or 0.05 to $73.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.05% or 0.04 to hit $77.26 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.17% or 14.50 to trade at $1256.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.08% to 4.3962, while USD/PLN fell 0.14% to 3.7747.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 94.43.
