Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Information Technology and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.02% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 4.46% or 2.94 points to trade at 68.89 at the close. Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) added 4.36% or 0.24 points to end at 5.74 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was up 4.21% or 4.04 points to 99.96 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which lost 2.63% or 1.74 points to trade at 64.51 in late trade. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) declined 1.58% or 0.40 points to end at 24.92 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) shed 0.43% or 0.04 points to 9.23.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 292 to 274 and 162 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.98% or 0.51 to $51.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 1.22% or 0.67 to hit $54.27 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.11% or 1.35 to trade at $1186.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.21% to 4.3708, while USD/PLN fell 0.13% to 4.1371.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 101.95.
