Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Energy and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.97%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP), which rose 4.55% or 2.50 points to trade at 57.50 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) added 3.31% or 3.75 points to end at 117.15 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) was up 2.35% or 1.06 points to 46.19 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which lost 2.47% or 7.00 points to trade at 276.00 in late trade. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) declined 1.33% or 0.35 points to end at 25.95 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) shed 1.26% or 0.12 points to 9.43.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 271 to 215 and 191 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.17% or 0.09 to $51.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.56% or 0.32 to hit $56.84 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.43 to trade at $1287.27 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.05% to 4.3119, while USD/PLN fell 0.22% to 3.6521.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.00.
