Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Energy and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.79%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 6.42% or 0.240 points to trade at 3.980 at the close. Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 4.08% or 0.37 points to end at 9.44 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) was up 3.05% or 0.130 points to 4.390 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which lost 1.47% or 0.39 points to trade at 26.10 in late trade. Kruk SA (WA:KRU) declined 0.92% or 3.10 points to end at 335.20 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) shed 0.71% or 0.04 points to 5.62.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 253 to 243 and 187 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.71% or 0.83 to $47.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.78% or 0.94 to hit $51.78 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.34% or 4.33 to trade at $1295.93 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.12% to 4.2797, while USD/PLN fell 0.31% to 3.6223.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 93.02.
