Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Information Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which rose 6.20% or 0.60 points to trade at 10.28 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) added 5.62% or 0.100 points to end at 1.880 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 4.94% or 0.40 points to 8.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Play Communications SA (WA:PLY), which lost 2.18% or 0.44 points to trade at 19.76 in late trade. PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) declined 2.17% or 1.00 points to end at 45.00 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) shed 1.23% or 0.36 points to 28.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 222 to 195 and 178 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.29% or 0.22 to $75.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.57% or 0.48 to hit $85.28 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.33% or 4.00 to trade at $1203.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.07% to 4.2984, while USD/PLN rose 0.29% to 3.7304.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 95.34.
