Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Energy and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 1.90% or 1.30 points to trade at 69.60 at the close. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) added 1.83% or 1.05 points to end at 58.55 and Dino Polska SA (WA:DNP) was up 1.60% or 1.60 points to 101.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which lost 1.96% or 1.00 points to trade at 50.00 in late trade. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 1.64% or 0.33 points to end at 19.80 and Play Communications SA (WA:PLY) shed 1.58% or 0.36 points to 22.46.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 273 to 181 and 196 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.71% or 0.92 to $54.71 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 2.10% or 1.28 to hit $62.12 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.28% or 3.75 to trade at $1321.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.72% to 4.2908, while USD/PLN rose 0.49% to 3.7402.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 95.230.
