Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Energy, Media and Developers sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP), which rose 5.01% or 0.45 points to trade at 9.44 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) added 4.31% or 0.100 points to end at 2.420 and PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) was up 3.41% or 1.50 points to 45.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which lost 2.88% or 0.72 points to trade at 24.26 in late trade. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 2.68% or 1.30 points to end at 47.20 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) shed 1.64% or 1.45 points to 87.14.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 229 to 191 and 183 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.71% or 1.11 to $65.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 2.07% or 1.56 to hit $76.92 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.30 to trade at $1301.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.11% to 4.2712, while USD/PLN fell 0.23% to 3.6154.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 93.38.
