Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Energy, Construction and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.31% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP), which rose 4.85% or 2.05 points to trade at 44.35 at the close. Play Communications SA (WA:PLY) added 4.11% or 0.75 points to end at 19.00 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was up 4.09% or 0.38 points to 9.67 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which lost 2.11% or 1.04 points to trade at 48.30 in late trade. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) declined 0.83% or 0.78 points to end at 92.72 and CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) shed 0.71% or 1.10 points to 152.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 236 to 235 and 180 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.08% or 0.04 to $52.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.47% or 0.29 to hit $61.98 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 3.30 to trade at $1242.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.11% to 4.2816, while USD/PLN rose 0.32% to 3.7791.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 96.988.
