Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Energy and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which rose 3.03% or 0.40 points to trade at 13.61 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 2.08% or 2.20 points to end at 108.17 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was up 2.07% or 1.39 points to 68.58 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO), which lost 2.35% or 2.94 points to trade at 122.17 in late trade. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 2.18% or 1.36 points to end at 61.05 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) shed 1.42% or 0.48 points to 33.42.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 273 to 213 and 180 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.48% or 1.17 to $48.26 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.76% or 1.41 to hit $52.44 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.12% or 1.52 to trade at $1293.92 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.13% to 4.2784, while USD/PLN fell 0.07% to 3.6425.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 93.45.
