Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Energy, Food and Media sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which rose 5.77% or 0.72 points to trade at 13.19 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) added 5.54% or 0.170 points to end at 3.240 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 5.35% or 0.66 points to 13.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included OrangePL (WA:OPL), which lost 3.55% or 0.20 points to trade at 5.43 in late trade. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) declined 3.17% or 2.39 points to end at 73.09 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) shed 2.50% or 0.61 points to 23.79.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 286 to 219 and 180 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.13% or 0.63 to $56.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.29% or 0.79 to hit $62.01 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.88% or 11.10 to trade at $1255.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.01% to 4.2121, while USD/PLN rose 0.03% to 3.5724.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 93.63.
