Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Services, Property and Holding Firms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.77%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Lt Group (PS:LTG), which rose 3.59% or 0.460 points to trade at 13.340 at the close. Meanwhile, Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM) added 2.37% or 0.220 points to end at 9.500 and Sm Prime Hldgs (PS:SMPH) was up 2.20% or 0.450 points to 21.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Metro Pacifi I (PS:MPI), which fell 2.24% or 0.110 points to trade at 4.780 at the close. Philex Mining (PS:PX) declined 1.17% or 0.070 points to end at 5.900 and Universal Robi (PS:URC) was down 0.80% or 1.500 points to 186.100.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 113 to 70 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.21% or 2.40 to $1145.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.90% or 0.47 to hit $51.88 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.65% or 0.37 to trade at $57.49 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.17% to 7.2888, while USD/PHP fell 0.16% to 45.260.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 97.55.
