Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Mining & Oil, Banking & Financials and Holding Firms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite declined 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT), which rose 10.23% or 6.950 points to trade at 74.900 at the close. Bloomberry Resorts Corp (PS:BLOOM) added 3.86% or 0.230 points to end at 6.190 and PLDT Inc (PS:TEL) was up 2.51% or 46.00 points to 1876.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which lost 7.52% or 8.2000 points to trade at 100.8000 in late trade. DMCI Holdings Inc (PS:DMC) declined 4.06% or 0.520 points to end at 12.280 and SM Prime Holdings Inc (PS:SMPH) shed 2.00% or 0.600 points to 29.450.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 114 to 77 and 38 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.49% or 6.65 to $1343.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.32% or 0.14 to hit $43.63 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $46.03 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.65% to 7.0117, while USD/PHP fell 0.43% to 46.592.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 95.81.
