Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Property, Holding Firms and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite lost 1.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Manila Electric Co (PS:MER), which rose 2.94% or 9.60 points to trade at 336.60 at the close. LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) added 2.46% or 0.550 points to end at 22.950 and Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) was up 1.15% or 3.40 points to 298.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS), which lost 4.00% or 3.000 points to trade at 72.000 in late trade. Ayala Land Inc (PS:ALI) declined 3.29% or 1.400 points to end at 41.100 and PLDT Inc (PS:TEL) shed 3.12% or 49.00 points to 1520.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 110 to 96 and 52 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.02% or 0.20 to $1318.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.51% or 0.32 to hit $62.69 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.38% or 0.25 to trade at $66.27 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.08% to 8.2416, while USD/PHP rose 0.21% to 52.133.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 90.48.
