Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Property, Banking & Financials and Holding Firms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite declined 1.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC), which rose 1.50% or 4.00 points to trade at 270.00 at the close. Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO) added 1.21% or 22.00 points to end at 1835.00 and Petron Corp (PS:PCOR) was up 0.91% or 0.080 points to 8.880 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Universal Robina Corp (PS:URC), which lost 5.88% or 8.00 points to trade at 128.00 in late trade. Ayala Land Inc (PS:ALI) declined 3.20% or 1.350 points to end at 40.850 and LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) shed 2.91% or 0.540 points to 18.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 128 to 63 and 51 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.34% or 4.20 to $1217.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.54% or 0.38 to hit $69.75 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.36% or 0.27 to trade at $75.28 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.33% to 7.7739, while USD/PHP rose 0.13% to 53.127.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 94.11.
