Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Property, Banking & Financials and Holding Firms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite fell 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which rose 2.64% or 0.95 points to trade at 37.00 at the close. PLDT Inc (PS:TEL) added 2.07% or 30.00 points to end at 1480.00 and San Miguel Corp (PS:SMC) was up 1.84% or 2.00 points to 110.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LT Group Inc (PS:LTG), which lost 3.61% or 0.700 points to trade at 18.700 in late trade. Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC) declined 1.40% or 0.300 points to end at 21.200 and Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co (PS:MBT) shed 1.21% or 1.20 points to 97.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 107 to 87 and 48 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.23% or 2.90 to $1267.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.31% or 0.18 to hit $57.74 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.14% or 0.09 to trade at $63.89 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.32% to 7.6330, while USD/PHP fell 0.34% to 50.228.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 93.03.
