Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Property, Holding Firms and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 1.33% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Ayala Land Inc (PS:ALI), which rose 5.02% or 1.750 points to trade at 36.600 at the close. JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS) added 3.95% or 3.000 points to end at 79.000 and International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT) was up 3.45% or 2.300 points to 69.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which lost 2.17% or 3.0000 points to trade at 135.0000 in late trade. Manila Electric Co (PS:MER) declined 1.47% or 4.700 points to end at 315.000 and Aboitiz Power Corp (PS:AP) shed 1.37% or 0.60 points to 43.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 93 to 74 and 33 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.37% or 4.70 to $1260.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.35% or 0.14 to hit $40.06 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.39% or 0.16 to trade at $41.38 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.32% to 7.1501, while USD/PHP rose 0.27% to 46.275.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 95.00.
