Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Holding Firms, Property and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Petron Corp (PS:PCOR), which rose 3.53% or 0.360 points to trade at 10.560 at the close. International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT) added 2.95% or 1.900 points to end at 66.400 and JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS) was up 2.56% or 2.000 points to 80.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PS:TEL), which lost 5.86% or 112.00 points to trade at 1798.00 in late trade. Bloomberry Resorts Corp (PS:BLOOM) declined 2.54% or 0.120 points to end at 4.600 and Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) shed 0.23% or 0.3000 points to 127.7000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 107 to 89 and 36 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.47% or 5.70 to $1229.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.29% or 0.11 to hit $37.86 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.38% or 0.15 to trade at $39.99 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.02% to 7.1245, while USD/PHP fell 0.15% to 46.115.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 94.50.
