Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Services, Holding Firms and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.50% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO), which rose 8.59% or 164.000 points to trade at 2074.000 at the close. Bloomberry Resorts Corp (PS:BLOOM) added 3.84% or 0.190 points to end at 5.140 and Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC) was up 3.63% or 1.000 points to 28.550 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Philex Mining Corp (PS:PX), which lost 5.89% or 0.360 points to trade at 5.750 in late trade. Petron Corp (PS:PCOR) declined 1.95% or 0.200 points to end at 10.080 and Ayala Corp (PS:AC) shed 1.32% or 10.000 points to 749.500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 94 to 77 and 42 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.88% or 11.00 to $1234.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.37% or 0.88 to hit $36.30 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.35% or 0.93 to trade at $38.60 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.20% to 7.1914, while USD/PHP rose 0.33% to 46.805.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 96.61.
