Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Property, Mining & Oil and Holding Firms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC), which rose 2.59% or 5.60 points to trade at 222.00 at the close. Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) added 2.53% or 4.20 points to end at 170.00 and GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP) was up 1.92% or 22.00 points to 1167.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included First Gen Corp (PS:FGEN), which lost 2.52% or 0.44 points to trade at 17.02 in late trade. International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT) declined 1.53% or 1.600 points to end at 103.000 and Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC) shed 0.82% or 0.200 points to 24.250.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 105 to 96 and 48 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.55% or 7.12 to $1286.88 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $48.64 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.26 to trade at $51.84 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.47% to 7.6840, while USD/PHP rose 0.43% to 51.230.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 93.22.
