Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, S&P Lima Juniors and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which rose 2.38% or 0.080 points to trade at 3.440 at the close. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) added 1.16% or 0.010 points to end at 0.870 and Bco Continenta (LM:CON) was up 1.16% or 0.050 points to 4.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Edegel (LM:EDE), which lost 3.70% or 0.100 points to trade at 2.600 in late trade. Casa Grande (LM:CSG) declined 2.78% or 0.200 points to end at 7.000 and Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) shed 2.60% or 0.400 points to 15.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 13 to 11 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.39% or 0.21 to $53.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.61% or 0.34 to hit $56.15 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1238.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.15% to 3.2561, while EUR/PEN fell 0.18% to 3.4577.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 100.92.
