Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Non-Metal Minerals, Industrials and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 9.76% or 0.080 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. Sider (LM:SID) added 4.35% or 0.015 points to end at 0.360 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) was up 1.45% or 0.160 points to 11.160 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which lost 10.91% or 0.610 points to trade at 4.980 in late trade. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) declined 3.08% or 0.020 points to end at 0.630 and Edegel (LM:EDE) shed 2.34% or 0.060 points to 2.500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 8 and 14 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 4.14% or 1.92 to $48.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 4.50% or 2.11 to hit $48.97 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.38% or 4.55 to trade at $1213.25 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.10% to 3.4190, while EUR/PEN rose 0.09% to 3.6235.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.43% at 100.97.
