Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Food & Beverages and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 1.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Candente Copper (LM:DNT), which rose 5.77% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.0550 at the close. Volcan Compania Minera SAA (LM:VOLa) added 4.65% or 0.080 points to end at 1.800 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) was up 0.97% or 0.010 points to 1.040 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Credicorp (LM:BAP), which lost 3.39% or 6.80 points to trade at 193.60 in late trade. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) declined 2.35% or 0.020 points to end at 0.830 and Inretail Peru (LM:INR) shed 1.96% or 0.370 points to 18.500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 8 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.20% or 1.09 to $48.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $51.83 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.01% or 12.87 to trade at $1292.17 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2480, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.8186.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.30.
